James Traficant for President of the United States

I learned about James Traficant about the same time I learned about Ron Paul in the mid 90's. They became my favorite Congressmen from their respective parties. I was a republican at the time so I followed Ron Paul more closely. I lost touch with both of them after 9-11. By 2004, I was done with politics period. Ron Paul cured my apathy in 2007. The revolution needs a breath of fresh air and I think James Traficant is that new energy. If Ron Paul is the greatest statesman then James Traficant is the greatest lawyer. We need a lawyer to convict the criminals who are running things. His entire political carreer has been to expose corruption at the top. If you don't know much about James Traficant, he has a pretty amazing biography but he is best seen in video on the House floor, in Congressional hearing and in his post prison interviews. He is my Presidential candidate for 2012. Check him out.

On the road with Adam Kokesh for Congress

I spent a week with the Adam Kokesh exploratory committee in the first half of June. I brought my journal but there was no time to blog or journal. One story stands out. We made a road trip from Santa Fe to Bransom Missouri. I don't remember all the details but we had stopped in Oklahoma and had dinner with RJ Harris and his campaign for Congress. There was a tornado watch in effect and I kept watching the news for updates. Nobody seemed to care that there was a tornado headed right for us. I have never seen such intense lightning storms as I did that night. We drove all night headed East and in the early morning before we checked into motel we stopped at a Super Wall Mart in Branson Missouri. We are dead center in the bible belt ready to make some purchases 4:30 in the AM. I get out half asleep to stretch my legs. Adam leads me to the shoe aisle where we have the most interesting discussion about dress shoes. Adam needs a pair for a presentation he is to make later in the afternoon. There are three black dress shoes to choose from all around $25 and all look almost identical. I suggest the ones with the slighter thicker sole and then we make are way to the shoe polish. Only in the military are there such elaborate discussions on shining shoes. Do you get the assembled shine kit or do you buy each piece individually? Do you get the applicator brush or do you get the cloth? Semi gloss or parade gloss? I say get cotton balls but Adam has other ideas about spit shining. We continue to the counter where I find my oddball purchase of the night. It's a DVD called "Lars and the Real Girl" It's about "a shy, lonely, socially inept young man who develops a relationship with a life-sized, anatomically-correct doll he orders online." It's not the type of movie you would expect to find at a Wallmart. They have a box stacked full of dozens of copies for $4. I purchase a copy satisfied that I won't find a better deal or better attempt at gonzo journalism.

Repeal the Federal Reserve 4-25

Photobucket

By Harold Gray
JustGetThere | Organizers from EndTheFed.us are planning to have a bigger effect this year educating the public about the history of the Federal Reserve system, and taking action to repeal the Fed with legislation introduced by Congressman Ron Paul. This years efforts include a viral internet presence, petitions to Congress, a D.C. phone call campaign and nationwide rallies at each Fed location and other major cities. The website has also been revamped since the last "End The Fed" events on 11/22/08. Tools on the site provide petitions and information for people to become signature gatherers and locally organize with others. Banners, forms and petitions are also available for download on the site. The nationwide Repeal The Fed Rally is on April 25th, and on April 27th the petition along with signatures will be presented to Congress, coinciding with the D.C. phone campaign and Ron Paul's speech at the National Press Club. JustGetThere attended and shot video of the "End The Fed" Houston rally with Ron Paul, and we look forward to covering this years event as well.

There is legislation before Congress that would End the Fed by repealing the Federal Reserve Act and restoring the power to issue money to the People via their elected Congress.
End The Fed petition to Congress reads:
In Support of the "Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act"
In order to re-establish a sound, constitutional monetary system, return the power to issue money to the People and their Congress and create the conditions for a renewal of our economy, which has been devastated by the current, unsound monetary regime:
We the People of the United States of America undersigned demand that Congress pass the "Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act", a bill to abolish the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Reserve Banks and to repeal the Federal Reserve Act, within the calendar year of 2009.
http://justgetthere.us/blog/archives/Operation-Repeal-The-Fed-04.25.09.html
What are the goals of
Operation Repeal the Fed?
In addition to eventually passing the "Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act", this campaign aims to:
1. MAKE AN ISSUE OUT OF IT. Put the issue of the monetary system and the Federal Reserve squarely on the table for real discussion and debate by Congress and in the media.
2. WAKE UP THE PEOPLE. Educate the public about the Federal Reserve, the monetary system and the need for Sound Money for America.
3. MOBILIZE. Build the End the Fed! movement, recruit new members and build our grassroots coalition

Adam Kokesh on Barack Obama

If one really looks closely at the policies proposed by the Obama Administration, they dont represent any kind of significant change, says Adam Kokesh, an activist with the Iraq Veterans Against the War organisation.
